She Kills Monsters is a play by Vietnamese-American playwright Qui Nguyen about a young woman, Agnes Evans, who discovers her deceased teenage sister, Tilly, was a Dungeons & Dragons enthusiast. To connect with her sister, Agnes plays Tilly's D&D module, navigating a fantasy world filled with ogres, fairies, and 90s pop culture, while uncovering secrets about Tilly's life, love, and identity. The play is known for its blend of fantasy, comedy, and heartfelt themes of grief, friendship, and acceptance, featuring extensive stage combat and geek culture references.
